Thanksgiving was different this year…

Sometimes when life feels like it’s swallowing you, a change of pace is necessary. Such was our Thanksgiving this year. Doug and I had a simple day. Do I want to do it that way every year? No. But we absolutely loved making this year, the only year of our forty-seven years together, set apart for R & R. It felt so good. Give yourself permission to rest without family when life is gobbling you up.

My One Word for 2021

A friend gave me a gift yesterday. With it was a beautiful cardstock with the words:

I hadn’t really given a lot of prayer or thought to my “one word” for the new year. Yet, as I read these words, the Lord flashed through my soul: “You have come to know how beautiful I made you and how worthy you are through My Son. This year I want to show you how very capable you are when you partner with Me.”

Then a verse came to mind immediately: “I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 NLT

Really? Everything? Yes, everything! Why everything? Because I have committed everything I do to Him and I trust Him to help me. (Psalms 37:4)

Father, guide lead and direct me this year where to lay my hands. I trust in You. I am committed to You. Thank You for making me beautiful, worthy AND capable. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, my Savior. Amen.

I am capable!

About me…

I’ve always enjoyed journaling. One of my earliest memories as a child is scribbling across a piece of paper. As I scribbled, I was thinking how proud my mom was going to be when I showed her what I had written. The feel of the paper under my hand brought me great comfort.

I still enjoy journaling in a notebook and the feel of the paper with a pen in my hand. In this fast-paced world, typing or using voice to text has made getting my thoughts out onto a page easier. Life experiences have a way of blocking your brain. Writing isn’t as easy as it used to be for me.

I decided to start blogging to put my thoughts out there because somehow I just can’t believe there aren’t others who are struggling mentally with pent-up emotions and stifled dreams.

I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother. I’m a Jesus lover and worshiper. And I’m an entrepreneur so that I can tell others about Jesus, my best Friend.

I hope you enjoy my scribbles and rants!
